Clemens Christian Poetzsch - NOCTUNES: Piano Concert

To give the night its own sound. With this idea, German pianist and composer Clemens Christian Poetzsch comes to Olomouc, where at Vila Primavesi he launches the Czech tour of his new album NOCTUNES. Eleven piano miniatures were created from evening walks after concerts - moments when he could slow down, discover an unfamiliar city, and let the impressions from his travels resonate within him. Each piece preserves a memory of a specific place, from Porto and Beirut to Prague.

NOCTUNES continues the tradition of nocturnes by John Field and Frédéric Chopin and develops it in a personal, contemporary direction. Classical piano foundations meet jazz sensibility and improvisation here - from brief ideas and spontaneous moments emerges music that is freer, calmer, and darker, in the rhythm of night hours.

Vila Primavesi, an Art Nouveau house of a family closely connected to the art of its time, offers this encounter a distinctive setting. On a Yamaha piano, contemporary music will resound, adding a new Olomouc evening to the NOCTUNES journey.

The concert is part of the Musical Bridges Europe project, which connects artists, audiences, and cities.
