Clemens Christian Poetzsch - NOCTUNES: Piano Concert
One of eleven miniatures from Clemens Christian Poetzsch's new album NOCTUNES preserves his memory of Prague. The German pianist and composer returns to conclude his Czech tour at Atrium Žižkov.
The album NOCTUNES emerged from moments after concerts - from walks through unfamiliar streets, from perceiving their sounds and atmosphere, from impressions that linger before sleep. For Poetzsch, night becomes a space where travel experiences settle and transform into music. His approach to the nocturne builds on John Field and Frédéric Chopin, bringing jazz sensibility and improvisation into this tradition - the classical piano foundation and lyrical melodies take on a contemporary, free form.
At Atrium Žižkov, a former Baroque church now dedicated to music, art, and gathering, NOCTUNES will resound on a Steinway & Sons concert grand. The memory of Prague will merge with this new evening and the people who come to listen.
The concert is part of the Musical Bridges Europe project, which connects artists, audiences, and cities.
