Description was written before the event

The life of the aristocracy is a recurring theme in Visconti's filmmaking, and his final film "The Innocent" is no exception. Through the dysfunctional marriage of nobleman Tullio and his wife Giuliana, Visconti exposes the false morality and emptiness beneath the seemingly noble facade of the upper classes.
