Noon Bells Live — Štěpánská ulice, Prague
Description was written before the event

Noon bells live with Prague with eyes wide open.

Bells delight the eye with their shape, and their ringing echoing through the city still holds a special charm. For our ancestors they meant far more - the tolling of bells called the faithful to mass, announced extraordinary public events, and warned of disasters.

The walk through the New Town bell towers begins at the Church of St. Stephen, a place with history reaching back to the 10th century. Participants will see the rotunda of St. Longinus, learn about the pilgrims' cemetery, and peek into St. Stephen's bell tower, where the bell is mounted upside down - just as in Kouřim.

The route then leads to the site of the former Chapel of Corpus Christi on Charles Square, once Prague's main pilgrimage destination. Every year on the second Friday after Easter, tens of thousands of the faithful would come here to see the crown of St. Wenceslas, venerate the relics of saints, and view the many reliquaries collected by Charles IV.

The walk ends at the Church of St. Adalbert, where participants will view the bell tower interior, learn about the traditions maintained there, and hear the bells rung by skilled bell-ringers. Visitors will be able to touch the bells themselves.
