Married couple Greg and Melanie invite their friend Jeff to dinner. Jeff's ex-girlfriend Charlie, whom he hasn't seen in five years, is getting married and has chosen Melanie as her witness. By coincidence, Charlie and her fiancé show up at the shared dinner. Charlie loves him, though she warns her friends beforehand that he is "a bit different".
