Architecture Day: Radical Forms of 20th-Century Housing
Tue, 6 Oct 2026 · 19:00
A lecture by architecture historian, publicist and curator Adam Štěch on extraordinary residential houses and interiors from around the world. He will present examples from the beginnings of modern architecture to postmodern experiments, documenting alternative, experimental and radical visions of human dwelling - in many cases entirely individual and enclosed within their own utopias.
The houses shown range from spiritually-inspired dwellings created through painting by German Expressionists, through sculpturally conceived modernist residential caves, to Japanese conceptual houses. The author has personally visited and photographed all of them as part of a lifelong effort to comprehensively document the legacy of modern architecture.
