Soul of Motherhood Conference III
Lékařská fakulta UP Olomouc, Olomouc
The third edition of the professional conference Soul of Motherhood takes place on February 5, 2027 in Olomouc, focusing on prevention of mental health difficulties in mothers.
Motherhood brings significant changes to a woman's life - and with them new demands, expectations, and situations one cannot fully prepare for. The conference asks what we can do to help women feel well during motherhood and not be under constant pressure, what can protect their mental health, and where there is room for prevention before difficulties arise.
The programme covers how conditions supporting women's mental health can look in everyday life, why information and strengthening women's competence matter, and how to discuss mental health in an understandable and practical way. It addresses performance pressure in motherhood and the expectation that mothers must always be strong and handle everything, the role of nutrition, rest and a safe environment in protecting mental health, the importance of reducing unnecessary stress before it affects wellbeing, and what timely support can look like - before problems emerge. The goal is not just to discuss what to do when a woman is struggling, but what to do beforehand - from the perspective of women themselves, their loved ones, professionals, and the system surrounding them.
The conference is open to the general public: women and their loved ones, anyone interested in maternal mental health, and professionals who work with women and families. The programme and speakers will be announced gradually.
Tickets: Wave 1 - 500 CZK (until November 15, 2026), Wave 2 - 750 CZK, Wave 3 - 1,000 CZK. Prices will increase as the programme is announced.
The conference is organized by the association Smile of Motherhood (Úsměv mámy, z.s.), which has been dedicated to maternal mental health since 2014. It supports women who have experienced mental health difficulties during pregnancy, after childbirth and later, focuses on peer support, raises awareness, and works to improve the system of care for mothers' mental health.
