FolklorOVA Festival

FolklorOVA is an initiative and folklore festival aimed at connecting cultures, folk traditions, the Ostrava folklore community, and the city. Over five festival days, it offers lectures, workshops, concerts, and an exhibition showcasing folk traditions, costumes, customs, music, and entertainment. It is designed for both experienced folklorists and the general public.

Nov 10 (Tuesday) - National Agricultural Museum Ostrava, 5 p.m.: opening of the exhibition "Threads Between Us" (free entry)
Nov 11 (Wednesday) - Music School Ostrava-Poruba, 5:30 p.m.: festival opening and showcase of children's folklore ensembles "From the Youngest"
Nov 12 (Thursday) - Music School Ostrava-Poruba, 5:30 p.m.: showcase of cimbalom orchestras "We Can Do It Too..."; BarBar, 8 p.m.: discussion by the cimbalom with the National Heritage Orchestra (pay-what-you-wish)
Nov 13 (Friday) - Cultural Centre Poklad, 7 p.m.: showcase of adult folklore ensembles "We Are All Here at Home, or When Two Do the Same Thing, It's Not the Same Thing"
Nov 14 (Saturday) - Czech House, 10 a.m.: folklore workshop for parents and children; 3 p.m.: dance workshop (Silesia CZ, Šariš SK); 7 p.m.: folklore celebration AKA FolkloRave
Nov 15 (Sunday) - Cultural Centre Poklad, 6 p.m.: concert by the FOVA Orchestra "Through Music to Each Other" (guests: Simona Hulejová, Júlia Kozáková, Milan Kostelenec, Tomáš Koláček)
