Hostages Without Risk

A French comedy with a criminal twist.

Marc is a writer admired by women, but he has had nothing to write about for a long time. He concludes that he is in a hopeless situation and decides to take his own life. He is unexpectedly visited by his old friend Luc — who once attempted the same thing when his girlfriend left him, and now wants to try again because she has returned.

The suicide plans of both men are thwarted by three fleeing amateur robbers with a bag full of money. They burst into the apartment, take the would-be suicides hostage, and threaten to kill them. But the sight of a full bag of banknotes restores Marc and Luc's will to live. Moreover, Marc's creative imagination returns — and this comes in handy, because the gang of robbers desperately needs a plan, and the police are already waiting outside the door.
