Cubism Below Vyšehrad

Jiráskovo náměstí, Prague

A guided walk showcasing cubist buildings from the brief period of Czech cubism, houses on the embankment designed by builder Václav Havel, and sites connected to famous writers such as Jirásk and Drda. The route also includes the Dancing House, the Vyšehrad tunnel, and the railway bridge to Smíchov. Those interested in Art Nouveau and Art Deco will also find plenty to admire, as will anyone who appreciates views of Prague.

The walk lasts 1.5–2 hours and is led by guide Kateřina Pousková. The meeting point is Jiráskovo náměstí in front of the statue of Alois Jirásk. The terrain is suitable for pushchairs; wheelchair users should be prepared for steep slopes. In summer months, head covering is recommended due to prolonged sun exposure.
