Architecture Day: Strašín - U Rathauskejch: How People Lived in the Countryside Long Ago

A guided tour of a heritage-protected timber cottage in Strašín led by its owner, historian Jiří Novák. A five-year restoration using traditional craftsmanship has returned the building to its original appearance - wooden shingle roof, wooden gutters, a black kitchen, and lime-plastered interior with smolka blue. In 2025, the building was nominated for the National Heritage Institute award Patrimonium pro futuro.

The tour will be followed by a short walk through the village to the cemetery and church.

On Saturday, October 3rd, from 10-17, the Strašín Church of the Birth of the Virgin Mary will also be open as part of the festival - freely accessible without a guide.

Parking at the cottage is limited; it is recommended to use the parking lot at the cemetery or at the municipal office.
