Architecture Day: Rožnov pod Radhoštěm - Kolibiska: Construction Site of the New Museum Area

Beyond the boundaries of Valašská dědina, the youngest section of the Rožnov open-air museum is taking shape - the Kolibiska area, scheduled to open in 2027. While Valašská dědina showcases village life, Kolibiska will transport visitors higher into the Carpathians: into the world of shepherds, loggers, charcoal makers, and forest workers from the era before tourism.

The site tour will guide you through the terrain among excavators and carpenters, explaining the project's dramaturgy, architectural approach, selection of buildings, exhibition creation, and museum operations. Your guides are architect Jan Kraut and ethnographer Radek Bryol.

The event is co-organized by the Methodological Centre for Open-Air Museums and Valašské muzeum v přírodě.
