Guided Tour of the Kladno Tower Museum
Muzeum věžáků Kladno, Kladno
A guided tour of the Kladno Tower Museum is designed for those interested in the history of Kladno's iconic tower buildings.
The tour begins in the entrance hall, recreated in the style of 1958. It continues through a permanent exhibition dedicated to the creation of the housing estate and tower buildings, the artistic decoration of the district, and the life of the chief architect Josef Havlíček. The tour also includes a civil defence shelter equipped for wartime emergencies and a model apartment with original furnishings. The tour culminates in an ascent to the roof terrace with views across the Czech landscape — the tower buildings are the highest structures in Kladno, and on clear days you can see Říp, the Czech Central Highlands, Ještěd, and the border mountains.
The tour lasts 90 minutes. Advance booking is required. In July and August, the museum is open every Saturday and Sunday. Groups of 8–12 people can arrange visits at other times by contacting info@muzeumvezaku.cz or calling +420 797 795 782 (Mon–Fri, 8 am–4 pm) — English-language guided tours can also be arranged at this number, and printed guides in English and German are available. School groups have reserved times on Tuesdays or by arrangement with guides; tours are held at 8:00 am, 10:00 am, 12:30 pm, and 2:30 pm.
All areas except the roof terrace are wheelchair accessible; some areas have narrower passages or thresholds. For more information, visit the museum's website.
