Odyssey
Odysseus (Matt Damon) was king of the Greek island of Ithaca, who according to legend and the poet Homer invented the famous Trojan Horse - a trick that sealed Troy's fate and ended the grueling siege of the city. After the battles end, he desires only one thing: to return home to his wife Penelope (Anne Hathaway) and son Telemachus (Tom Holland).
Yet his bold deeds have angered the gods, who make his return as difficult as possible. Odysseus faces giants, the seductive sorceress Circe, and countless other perils - while at home Penelope resists the men who seek to claim her and the entire kingdom of Ithaca.
This is why the word "odyssey" has become synonymous with a journey fraught with obstacles that lead the wanderer away from his goal rather than toward it.
