Through the History of Bohemia in Mala Strana

Mala Strana is one of Prague's best-preserved historic quarters, and its streets bear the traces of events that shaped Czech history for centuries. Originally an unfortified settlement below the castle, it gradually grew and left behind houses and legends that are now an inseparable part of the city's character.

The walk will begin in the Premyslid era and lead through the age of Charles IV - Prague's great builder and expander - to the Rudolfine flourishing. Baroque buildings will then recall the post-White Mountain period and the enlightened tendencies of some Habsburgs.
