Musical Encounter with a Percussionist

A meeting with the percussion instruments of a symphony orchestra - one of the largest and most diverse instrumental groups. The lecture will be led by Emil Machain, a musician with the Moravian Philharmonic, who will introduce the audience to the daily reality of an orchestral percussionist: how many instruments can surround a single player, what can be played on them, and how many mallets is too many.

The evening will include a live demonstration featuring the vibraphone and possibly other instruments whose musical potential you might not expect.
