Musical Meeting with a Philharmonic Violin Maker

A meeting dedicated to string instruments led by cellist and philharmonic violin maker Jiří Fajkus. The programme focuses on the selection of resonant spruce and maple, winter timber harvesting, and long-term wood storage before it is ready for processing.

Participants will see the tools and instruments used by the violin maker and observe how raw wood gradually acquires the properties of a string instrument. At the end, Jiří Fajkus will compare the sound worlds of Stradivarius and Guarneri violins.
