A SPORTUJ! How to Raise Psychologically Resilient Children
A discussion from the Podej Ruku Sportu project focused on children's psychological resilience in sports. How do we motivate children to play sports without putting unnecessary pressure on them? How do we teach them to handle losses and mistakes? Where does healthy support end and excessive parental ambition begin? And do today's children perhaps need to face more challenges?
The guest for this open conversation is PhDr. Marian Jelínek, Ph.D., one of the most respected Czech experts in mental coaching. For over 35 years, he has worked in sports psychology, motivation, and mental training. He collaborated individually with Jaromír Jágr for many years, won gold as a hockey coach at the 2005 World Championship, and secured two championship titles with HC Sparta Prague. He is also a university lecturer and author of numerous books.
The discussion will touch on intrinsic motivation, emotions, performance pressure, and the role that parents, coaches, and sport itself play in all of this.
