Hrebenky: Fates of a Villa Quarter

Kaple Nejsvětější Trojice, Prague
Hrebenky is today one of Prague's most prestigious addresses, but its history stretches far back before the villa development - to a time when only vineyards and farmsteads stood here. The walk will show how this agricultural landscape beneath Strahov Stadium gradually developed into the quarter we know today, and will explain the origin of its name.
The route begins and ends near the Hrebenka bus stop. Because the quarter is situated on a slope, the path first leads uphill and then back down. Along the way you will see magnificent residences, Baroque monuments, and a row-house colony that is considered the finest of its kind in all of Czechoslovakia.
