SAM83 Gallery, Česká Bříza

exhibition culture

An exhibition of contemporary art featuring works by Kateřina Šípová and Ondřej Konrád, exploring how they grapple with the accumulated legacy of previous generations.

About the venue: SAM83 Gallery

Galerie sam83 opened in 2006 in Česká Bříza, about 5 km north of Plzeň, as part of the project Vision for a New Culture and Its Place. It occupies a rural farmstead with a ceramics workshop, a studio, and a garden - a setting quite unlike a conventional gallery. The roots go back to 1996, when summer open-air exhibitions began on the same site. Alongside contemporary art shows, it organises lectures, screenings, concerts, and artist residencies, and publishes the cultural quarterly PIŽMO.
