Guided Tour: "Images, Words, Irises" Exhibition
Guided tour of works by Věra Nováková and Pavel Brázda, two 20th-century artists, led by curator Vendula Fremlová.
Věra Nováková (1928-2024) was a Czech painter, sculptor and book illustrator, and the wife of artist Pavel Brázda. Expelled from the Academy of Fine Arts for political reasons in 1949, she spent decades working outside the official art world. Her paintings draw on biblical themes, portraiture and the interplay of image and text - a thread she first explored while illustrating the 1964 book Co se slovy všechno poví.
😴 Nothing scheduled with this artist in the near future.
