Festival "Children, Are You Reading?!" 2026 Vendula Tomšů, Bára Vokálová: To Antarctica!
A children's festival programme with Vendula Tomšů and Bára Vokálová exploring adventures on Antarctica.
Vendula Tomšů (b. 1989, Hodonín) is a Czech visual artist, theatre set designer and performer. She studied Japanese philology at Palacký University in Olomouc before completing a degree in scenography at the Department of Alternative and Puppet Theatre at DAMU in 2020. She is a co-founder of the collective 8lidí and the Zlín-region cultural association Zvěřinec; her own work focuses on intimate performances for small audiences, where the boundary between spectator and co-author deliberately blurs.
The performance "Meet the Fox" (co-author Johana Pocková) was included in the program of the Prague festival Malá inventura 2025 (February 20-28).
Tomšů participates with the production "Meet the Fox" in the sixth Karlovy Vary edition of the festival Malá inventura v regionech.
A review on divadelni.net described the repeat performance of "Meet the Fox" at Club Letka as a storytelling performance combining movement, objects, and natural materials.
The performance "Meet the Fox" was presented as part of the Moving Station festival in Plzen (May 30, 2024); the project was supported by the ART-IN-RES program and included in the European Festivals Fund for Emerging Artists platform.
A review on the SE.S.TA portal from June 2024 evaluated "Meet the Fox" as a work transcending the boundaries of traditional theater format and emphasized the intimacy and delicacy of Tomšů and Pocká's work.
