Václav Krahulík

About

Václav Krahulík (born 31 December 1966 in Ústí nad Labem) is a Czech pianist, composer, musicologist and academic teacher. He trained at the Teplice Conservatory under Jaroslav Čermák and at the Prague Academy of Music with Pavel Štěpán, winning laureate prizes at the Chopin, Smetana and Beethoven competitions while still a student. Since 1995 he has taught at the Faculty of Education of UJEP in Ústí nad Labem, and performs regularly as a soloist and accompanist across Europe and the United States. His compositional output spans classical forms, organ music and jazz.

Krahulík performed as a soloist at the Opening of the Spa Season 2025 with the West Bohemian Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Radek Baborák.
2025-04
Czech Television (ČT art) released a recording of the concert "Concert for All Senses II", in which Krahulík performed alongside Radek Baborák and other musicians.

The XV Chopin Concert took place at the castle in Děčín, where Krahulík performed together with soprano Dagmar Zelenková.
2022
An analysis of Krahulík's sacred composition "Actus Caritatis" was published in the professional journal "Theoretical Reflections on Music Education" (vol. 18, no. 1).

Krahulík participated in Radek Baborák's project dedicated to the centennial of Ástor Piazzolla's birth - he plays in the ensemble Radek Baborák Orquestria.
