V.A.R. (Vratislavický Alkoholický Rachot - Vratislavice Alcoholic Roar) is a thrash metal band from Vratislavice, a district of Liberec in northern Bohemia, active since 1989. The name comes from a local brewery, and the band has kept a nearly unchanged line-up throughout its existence. Their debut CD Personal Destruction appeared in 1992, and they have since released several more albums. They are regulars at major Czech extreme metal festivals such as Obscene Extreme and Metalgate Czech Death Fest.
