
Tonkünstler Orchestra Wien & Pavel Šporcl
The prestigious Vienna-based Tonkünstler Orchestra Wien performs with violinist Pavel Šporcl at the Hvězdy nad Vltavou festival. The program features masterworks by Mozart, Lalo, Saint-Saëns, and Beethoven.
The Tonkünstler-Orchester Niederösterreich is an Austrian symphony orchestra based in Vienna and St. Pölten, tracing its roots to the Viennese Tonkünstler-Sozietät of 1771 and its first modern concert in 1907. As the state orchestra of Lower Austria, it performs regularly in the Golden Hall of the Musikverein, at the Festspielhaus St. Pölten, and - since 2007 - as orchestra-in-residence at the Grafenegg Festival. From the 2025/26 season, French conductor Fabien Gabel leads the orchestra, succeeding Yutaka Sado after a decade at the helm.
