Roman Karpaš is a Czech graphic artist, historian, typographer, publisher, photographer and educator, born on 30 October 1951 in Liberec, where he has spent his entire professional career. His work spans printmaking, drawing and book illustration — he has illustrated eight books, including Rok v Jizerských horách. A dominant use of black and work on special recycled paper are characteristic features of his art.
