Philosophical Concert for the Slavic Epic
A philosophical concert combining music, spoken word, and reflection on Slavic identity. Two pianists and commentary from Professor Stehlík in the unique setting of castle arcades.
Renata Lichnovská (married name Ardaševová), born 10 June 1969 in Přerov, is a Czech pianist and university teacher. She trained at the Janáček Conservatory in Ostrava and then at JAMU in Brno, where she now holds an associate professorship; her 2009 habilitation focused on Smetana's Má vlast in the four-hand piano arrangement. A laureate of Czech and international competitions - including the Gordon Trust Prize in Glasgow (1992) and the Chopin Competition in Mariánské Lázně - she performs both as a soloist and as one half of Duo Ardašev alongside her husband Igor Ardašev, with whom she recorded the complete Dvořák four-hand works and Smetana's Má vlast for Supraphon.
Renata Lichnovská will perform on August 12, 2026 at the Ševčík Academy in Písek as a rehearsal pianist in a chamber program.
At the Znojmo Music Festival 2026, Lichnovská will perform Dvořák's Slavonic Dances for two pianos as part of a project dedicated to Alphonse Mucha's Slavic Epic.
Duo Ardašev performed on January 29, 2026 with the Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra Olomouc - the program included Bach's Concerto for Two Pianos and Britten's Scottish Ballad.
In January 2026, Lichnovská repeatedly performed as a rehearsal pianist at the JAMU graduation concerts in Brno.
Duo Ardašev opened the jubilee 20th season of the International Interpretation Courses L. Janáček and B. Martinů in Turnov with an opening concert.
