Punch Brothers
The Punch Brothers, led by mandolinist Chris Thile, bring their twentieth-anniversary tour to Brno with new material and a refreshed lineup featuring violinist Brittany Haas.
Punch Brothers are an American acoustic quintet founded in New York in 2006 by mandolinist Chris Thile. Building on bluegrass instrumentation, the band weaves together classical composition, jazz and indie rock into a sound that defies easy categorisation. They have released seven albums on Nonesuch Records and won the Grammy for Best Folk Album for All Ashore (2018), cementing their place as one of the most ambitious string bands of their generation.
Punch Brothers announced a European tour in January 2027 - their first European performance in nearly a decade, including a stop in Brno (Sono, January 26).
Nonesuch Records announced the release of Punch Brothers' seventh album The Unsung Adventures of Punch Brothers on July 24, 2026 - the band's first purely instrumental album and also their first with violinist Brittany Haas.
The band launched a 64-city North American tour (their largest since 2019) with headlining concerts at Carnegie Hall and Ryman Auditorium.
Their audio show The Energy Curfew Music Hour won Signal Awards in the categories of Most Innovative Audio Experience, Best Live Podcast Recording, and Best Sound Design.
