Petr Hecht is a Czech photographer with fifty years of practice, best known for his three-decade collaboration with Divadlo Járy Cimrmana - a theatre where he also worked as a stagehand, giving him rare behind-the-scenes access. He documented all the company's productions from Akt to České nebe, long preferring classical black-and-white photography on baryta paper. Beyond theatre, he works on portraits, landscapes, and a lifelong project photographing sculptures - particularly baroque statues in overgrown castle parks. His book Cimrmani came out in 2022.
