Petr Buchta (born 21 January 1985 in Karviná) is a Czech stage and screen actor. He trained at the Janáček Conservatory in Ostrava and worked at Těšínské divadlo, Městské divadlo Kladno and Švandovo divadlo in Prague, taking on roles ranging from Raskolnikov to Cyrano. He gained international recognition for the lead role in the Czech-Latvian-Lithuanian co-production The Year Before the War (2021), which earned him the Lielais Kristaps - Latvia's top film award. Broader Czech audiences know him from the long-running TV Nova series Ulice and, more recently, from Bratři a sestry and Limity (2025).
Buchta appeared in the new TV Nova series Bratři a sestry, which premiered on August 26, 2025, in the role of Romeš.
In 2025, Buchta played the role of Pítrse in the series Limity and the role of Roman Janda in the series Bratři a sestry.
Buchta appeared in the film Vlny (2024) in the role of Skácela.
In the series Pod hladinou (2023), he played the criminalist Lukáš in eight episodes.
For the leading role in the film Rok před válkou, he received the Latvian film award Lielais Kristaps on February 27, 2022, for best male acting performance.
