Prague's street theatre festival returns to the Exhibition Grounds with performances in streets and public spaces.
Paper Moon Trio is a Slovak all-female vocal and instrumental trio specialising in hot jazz from the 1920s to the 1950s. Barbora Medeková (ukulele, banjolele), Andrea Kružliaková (guitar) and Kristína Uhlíková / Juliana Šeregiová (violin) first played together in the Bratislava Hot Serenaders orchestra and have been performing as an independent trio since 2014. Close harmony singing is the backbone of their sound, drawing on the Boswell Sisters and pre-war Czechoslovak vocal trios. They won the Jazz START UP competition in 2016 and released their second album, Jazz keď znie, in 2024.
Paper Moon Trio will perform on August 4, 2026 in Banská Bystrica in the courtyard of the Central Slovak Cultural Center.
In April 2026, the trio performed in Malacky and Bratislava (Konská železnica) as part of a spring tour of Slovakia.
On March 10, 2025, the trio premiered the second album Jazz keď znie at the Bratislava V-klub and dedicated the evening to the memory of composer Viera Bedrnová (1925-2024) on what would have been her 100th birthday.
The album Jazz keď znie (Pavian Records, 2024) was nominated for the ESPRIT award for best Slovak jazz album of the year.
The second studio album Jazz keď znie was released in 2024 by Pavian Records and features songs composed for Slovak and Czech vocal trios from the first half of the 20th century.
