Olie Brice Quartet is a British jazz group led by double bassist, composer and improviser Olie Brice (born 1981), who grew up in London and Jerusalem and now lives in Hastings. The quartet features saxophonist Rachel Musson, pianist Alexander Hawkins and drummer Will Glaser - each a respected bandleader in their own right. Their debut album All It Was (West Hill Records, 2025) collects six Brice compositions that move fluidly between composed frameworks and open improvisation, drawing wide critical praise as one of the year's standout British jazz releases.
The debut album of the quartet All It Was was released on July 18, 2025 on the West Hill Records label and was recorded in October 2024 at the Fish Factory studio in London.
Critic Richard Williams called All It Was one of the albums of the year, and All About Jazz praised Brice's ability to combine composition with improvisation.
The album was presented with a concert at the London club Vortex on the day of release, July 18, 2025.
The quartet performed on February 13, 2026 at the Eastside Jazz Festival at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire.
In January 2024, Brice released the trio album Immense Blue (West Hill Records) with saxophonist Rachel Musson and drummer Mark Sanders and presented it at Cafe OTO in London.
