Monolord are a Swedish doom/stoner metal trio from Gothenburg, formed in 2013 by guitarist-vocalist Thomas V. Jäger, drummer Esben Willems, and bassist Mika Häkki. The band built a strong international following through a run of critically praised albums on Relapse Records and relentless touring across Europe, North America, and major festivals including Hellfest, Desertfest, and Roadburn. Their sound - built on crushing, hypnotic riffs and Jäger's melodic vocals - has made them one of the most respected acts in contemporary doom metal.
Monolord released their sixth album Neverending on May 29, 2026 through Relapse Records - their first studio album in five years.
The band released the second single Oozing Wound from the upcoming album Neverending.
Monolord completed recording their sixth album with renowned producer Sylvia Massy in Ashland, Oregon; the release is scheduled for 2026 on Relapse Records.
Monolord announced their first North American tour since 2022, featuring stops in San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle, Denver, and Los Angeles in June 2026.
In August 2025, Monolord performed at a festival in Jaroměř in the Czech Republic.
