Michal Grombiřík is a Brno-based cimbalom player working across folk, classical and jazz. He made history as the first cimbalom player admitted to the jazz performance department at JAMU, and won awards at the international cimbalom competition in Valašské Meziříčí in 2009 and 2011. In the jazz quartet Verva he pairs the cimbalom with electric guitar and a rhythm section.
