Bára Hrzánová & Condurango + support: MarZ
Legendary Czech band Condurango, fronted by actress Bára Hrzánová, returns to Palác Akropolis with support from MarZ. A classic 1980s formation playing their distinctive sound.
MarZ is a Prague band built around singer, guitarist and songwriter Markéta Zdeňková - the name is a contraction of her initials. The music sits between folk, jazz and alternative, with lyrics almost entirely in Czech. Co-founder and trombonist Štěpán Janoušek shapes the band's distinctive arrangements; in 2018 the original duo expanded to a quintet. Three studio albums: Na rozcestí (2017), MarZ (Tranzistor, 2020) and #silnouzenou (MarZ RecordZ, 2024).
MarZ released their third album #silnouzenou on their own label MarZ RecordZ; the album launch took place on September 26 at Prague's Klubovna and on November 28 at Brno's Staré pekárně.
The album #silnouzenou was released under the MarZ RecordZ label after the band was unsuccessful with major publishers and the Tranzistor label had a full schedule.
MarZ performed at the LET 2024 festival in Hranicích as part of the Saturday program.
The band launched a crowdfunding campaign on Donio to cover the costs of the third album; the campaign was successful.
In spring 2024, the first single from the upcoming third album was released - the song Jen tak.
