About

MarZ is a Prague band built around singer, guitarist and songwriter Markéta Zdeňková - the name comes from her initials. The music sits somewhere between folk, jazz and alternative, with lyrics mostly in Czech. Trombonist Štěpán Janoušek has been her core partner from the start; the band expanded to five members in 2018. Their debut duo album Na rozcestí came out in 2017, followed by the self-titled MarZ on Tranzistor in 2020.
