
Tour de Varhany
A cross-border musical excursion visiting three historic churches with organ concerts by Czech and Austrian organists.
Martin Jakubíček (born 21 September 1965 in Brno) is a Czech organist, harpsichordist and composer whose repertoire spans Renaissance and Baroque music through to contemporary works. He studied harpsichord and composition at the Brno Conservatory and improvisation at JAMU, where he went on to represent the academy at the J. S. Bach International Organ Competition in Leipzig and the Prague Spring organ competition. As a soloist he plays organ, harpsichord and fortepiano on period-accurate instrument replicas, leads the chamber ensembles Trio od sv. Jakuba and Trio artificium, and has contributed to recordings of many dozens of CDs.
Jakubíček presented his original one man show titled 'Boldly and Jokingly with Serious Music Mostly' at the Brno Musílka theatre.
Jakubíček performed at the Saint Wenceslas Music Festival in Ostrava as a soloist on historical keyboard instruments.
Jakubíček participated in the Znojmo Music Festival, where his stand-up performance from behind the scenes of a musician's life was presented.
At the Znojmo Music Festival, Jakubíček participated in the world premiere of Miloš Štědroň's composition 'Tanze di Anima et di Corpo' as part of the 'Tour de Varhany' project.
