Marpo, born Otakar Petřina on 29 January 1985 in Prague, is a Czech rapper, singer and drummer - son of rock guitarist Ota Petřina. He started out drumming for Chinaski and rapping with the Charakter crew before building his own TroubleGang project. Over two decades he released ten studio albums, gradually shifting from straight-up hip-hop toward a personal blend of rap, country and blues that has few parallels on the Czech scene.
Marpo released his 10th studio album Making Country Music Cool Again (Capitol Records) in December 2025 and christened it with two sold-out concerts at Prague's Roxy.
The single Memphis for the new album was recorded in Nashville at East Iris Studio, in a house connected with Elvis Presley.
Marpo announced the end of the TroubleGang project after a 12-year hiatus and launched his solo tour Cowboys & Dreamers tour 2025 across Czech cities.
Marpo released his 9th studio album Cowboys & Dreamers, on the production of which Marcus Tran collaborated.
