
Dvořák Festival: Mozartissimo at the Castle
A Dvořák Festival concert featuring a selection of arias and duets from Mozart's most celebrated operas, complemented by Beethoven's variations. Performed by renowned Czech musicians.
Marie Fajtová (born 1978, Lomnice nad Popelkou) is a Czech soprano and soloist of the National Theatre Opera in Prague, where she has been a company member since the 2006/2007 season. She trained at the Prague Conservatory - first piano, then opera singing with Jiří Kotouč - and later worked with Nancy Henninger and Christa Ludwig. Her wide repertoire spans Baroque opera through Mozart, Verdi and Bellini to contemporary works; she has guested at the Opéra Royal de Versailles, the Finnish and Estonian National Operas, and the Helikon Opera in Moscow. In 2008 she won the Grand Prize at the Barbara Hendricks International Vocal Competition in Strasbourg.
In July 2025, Fajtová will perform in the role of Musetta in La Bohème in Mariánské Lázně (production by F. X. Šaldy Theatre Liberec).

In 2016, she was nominated for the Thalia Prize for the title role in Bellini's Norma at the National Theatre Prague.
