Marián Maršálek is a Czech academic sculptor from the Moravian Karst area who specialises in large-scale sand sculpture. He has been a regular presence at the Písek riverside sand sculpture event for many years, and at the 20th anniversary edition he led the team of artists whose works consumed around a hundred tonnes of sand. He also works in wood carving and ice sculpture.
