Libor Šedin

About

Libor Šedina is a wood-carver and nativity-scene maker from Bechyně in South Bohemia, the fifth generation of a family craft tradition. Since 2016 he has been carving a passion nativity scene together with his father Karel - the only one of its kind in the Czech Republic - with over two hundred linden-wood figures depicting the last days of Christ's life. He is also the creator of the Bechyně mechanical nativity, in which nearly ninety-five percent of the figures move.

A monumental Passion nativity carved by the Šedin family depicts the final fifty days of Jesus Christ's life with over two hundred figures. This unique masterpiece is one of the world's largest and visitors can enjoy guided tours directly from its creators.
