Kytice is a collection of ballads by Karel Jaromír Erben, published in 1853. Drawing on Czech folk tradition and mythology, it centres on women caught in the grip of fate and supernatural forces, rarely escaping without tragedy. It is one of the cornerstones of Czech Romantic literature.
