Katharina Wagner is a German opera director and, since 2008, artistic director of the Bayreuther Festspiele - a role she holds as great-granddaughter of Richard Wagner. Her productions are known for reinterpreting the operatic canon through a contemporary, often provocative lens. She has directed at major opera houses across Europe.
