Karel Peterka (born 30 December 1950 in České Budějovice) is a Czech singer, composer and lyricist who has been active since the 1970s. He has written over a thousand songs - for himself, his band Peterka a spol. and many other artists. After 2000 he built the Česká muzika label into one of the country's largest, and in 2012 launched Šlágr TV, the folk-and-schlager channel he founded and still fronts daily.
In December 2024, a special concert for Karel Peterka's 74th birthday was filmed at the Šlágr TV studio in Dubná.
In August 2025, Karel Peterka will perform at the Šlágr Fest festival at Šternberk State Castle.
In 2025, Šlágr TV is holding another edition of the Zlatý Šlágr songwriting competition, with the final evening planned for autumn 2025.
In April 2024, Peterka participated in the Gala Concert of famous Šlágr TV personalities at the sports hall in Hluk.
