Josef Vohrabal - Geometry of Movement
A retrospective exhibition of painter and musician Josef Vohrabal, a significant yet underappreciated figure in Czech post-war modernism.
Josef Vohrabal (1908–1994) was a Brno-based painter and musician, one of the overlooked figures of Czech post-war modernism. He worked in carefully planned thematic cycles, moving from figurative female nudes toward formal stylisation and abstraction. His works are held by the National Gallery in Prague and the Moravian Gallery in Brno. He was associated with the Brno art scene around painters Bohumír Matal and Jánuš Kubíček.
