Josef Bolf is a Czech painter and graphic artist, a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, where he later led his own painting studio. His work is characterised by a dark, expressive atmosphere with recurring motifs of anxiety, loneliness and urban environments. He is one of the prominent figures of the Czech visual arts scene around the turn of the 21st century.
