Jörg Piringer (born 1974, Vienna) is an Austrian writer, sound poet and media artist working at the intersection of electronic music, sound poetry and digital art. He studied computer science at TU Vienna and co-founded the Institute for Transacoustic Research in 1998; he is also a member of the First Vienna Vegetable Orchestra. In 2021 he received the City of Vienna Media Art Prize, and in 2020 he was nominated for the Ingeborg Bachmann Prize.
Piringer's book 'verbrenner' will be presented in the ORF Ö1 radio program on June 29, 2026.
In November 2025, Piringer performed with the new collection 'verbrenner' at Literaturhaus Stuttgart.
In March 2025, Piringer published a new book 'verbrenner' at Ritter Verlag in Klagenfurt.
In October 2024, Piringer performed at the Poesía y Música festival in Santiago de Chile.
In March 2024, Piringer presented a new poetry collection 'fünf minuten in die zukunft' (Limbus Lyrik, 2024).
