Jaroslav Tomáš

About

Jaroslav Tomáš (born 16 March 1991 in Jilemnice) is a Czech actor and musician. He trained in drama at JAMU in Brno and, after a stint at the Husa na provázku theatre, joined the ensemble of Divadlo Polárka in Brno, where he also composes music for productions. Wider audiences know him from the role of murderer Vladimír Kuna in the TV series Devadesátky and as Josef Čapek in the Czech Television children's programme Pohádky bratří Čapků (2020). He also plays in the pop-folk band OKno.

    In November 2025, the Polárka Theatre premiered the production The Neverending Story (based on Michael Ende's work), in which Tomáš plays the role of Bastian.

    In April 2025, the Polárka Theatre premiered the original letter cabaret Berta Between the Lines, for which Tomáš composed the music and in which he also performs.

  • 2024-11

    In November 2024, the podcast The Tales of the Čapek Brothers became available again on platforms, in which Tomáš together with Vít Piskala reads Čapek's fairy tales for ČT Déčko.
