Jan Unger

About

Jan Unger is a singer, lyricist and flutist from Kladno - the frontman of Czech alternative band Zrní, which has kept the same five-member lineup since 2001. The band has released seven studio albums, moving between folk, alternative rock and experimental sounds, and won the Anděl Award for Newcomer of the Year in 2012. Outside Zrní, Unger records and performs as one half of the family duo Unger Jansen with his wife Bára, singer of the duo DVA.

    Zrní will perform on June 20, 2026 in the natural amphitheater in Lokti.

    The band is included in the program of Festival Krumlov 2026, which will take place from July 17 to August 8.

    In October 2024, Zrní performed a charity concert for the hospice organization Cesta domů at Prague's La Fabrice.

    In March 2024, the band performed two consecutive sold-out concerts at Prague's Café V lese.

    In February 2023, the band released their seventh studio album Široko daleko, which features a more acoustic and straightforward sound than previous recordings.
