Jan Smigmator (born 17 January 1986 in Jihlava) is a Czech swing and jazz singer, a graduate of the Prague Conservatory, and the host of the Klub Evergreen programme on Czech Radio Dvojka. His repertoire centres on the Great American Songbook, drawing on the legacies of Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett and Nat King Cole. In April 2023 he became the first Czech jazz singer to give a solo concert at Carnegie Hall in New York, backed by members of Tony Bennett's quartet and saxophonist Scott Hamilton.
Smigmator is preparing a gala concert on April 29, 2026 for his 40th birthday at Prague's O2 universum, where he will premiere the album Here And Now recorded at New York's Flux Studios with guests Scott Hamilton, Luba Mason, and Rubén Blades.
The Mr. Swing Tour 2026 for his 40th birthday started on January 17, 2026 at the Brno club Sono and continues across the Czech Republic.
Smigmator recorded new material at Sono Records for a studio album planned for early 2026, from which he released the single But Beautiful with trumpeter Anthony Hervey.
In January 2025, Smigmator became an ambassador for the Audi brand in the Czech Republic.
In October 2023, the live album Jan Smigmator LIVE IN NEW YORK was released, capturing the historic concert at Carnegie Hall; the album was premiered on the television talk show 7 pádů Honzy Dědka.
