Jan Polívka is a Czech pianist based in Germany, where he teaches at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts and performs as a soloist and chamber musician across Europe. He led the Main Kammerorchester Frankfurt for several years, appearing as soloist in twenty piano concertos with the ensemble. He is also active as a choirmaster and champions Czech music - particularly Janáček - in Germany. His own compositions include sacred works, masses and canons.
